Silmäpussiongelman voi ratkaista korjaamalla omia elämäntapojaan, ruokavaliotaan tai nukkumistottumuksiaan. Useimmiten elämänmuutokset eivät kuitenkaan auta. Tämä johtuu siitä, että alaluomien pussitus on geneettistä.
Mikäli alaluomialueen pussitus ja velttous kulkee suvussa, voi kääntyä plastiikkakirurgin puoleen. Mikäli leikkaushoito ei syystä tai toisesta tunnu hyvältä vaihtoehdolta, alaluomia voi kiristää ja kiinteyttää myös tehokkaalla laserhoidolla.
Alaluomileikkaukselle on olemassa veitsetön vaihtoehto. Fotona-laserhoitojen uusin sovellus on nimeltään Smile Eye Lift™. Toimenpide on kehitetty pussittavan silmänalusihon kiristämiseen, kutistamiseen ja kiinteyttämiseen. Smile Eye Lift (SEL) on sarjahoito, joka tehdään noin kahden viikon välein 3–5 kertaa. Useimmiten silmänympärysalueen ilme nuorentuu merkittävästi jo ensimmäisen SEL-hoidon jälkeen.
SEL-hoidossa silmänalusihoa käsitellään alaluomen sisäosan kautta sen jälkeen, kun silmä on puudutettu tipolla ja peitetty metallisella suojuksella. Tuloksia saavutetaan keskimäärin kolmen Smile Eye Lift -toimenpiteen hoitosarjalla. Hoidosta toipuminen on nopeaa. Nesteen kertymistä voidaan ehkäistä ja hoitaa lymfaterapialla. Joskus hoitoalueella huomataan toimenpiteen jälkeen turvotusta, mikäli potilas ei ole käynyt lymfahoidossa ennen SEL-hoitoa.
Alaluomien laserkohotus – Smile Eye Lift – tehdään Fotonan SMOOTH moden avulla. SMOOTH mode on Er:YAG-laserin muoto, jossa ihon syvimpiä osia voidaan lämmittää ilman, että ihon pinta vaurioituu. SMOOTH mode -laser mahdollistaa lämpötilan nostamisen kudoksissa juuri sille tasolle, jossa kudosten kiristyminen ja kollageenisynteesi käynnistyvät.
Jos alaluomet pussittavat alueelle kertyneen rasvan vuoksi, lääkäri voi tehdä modifioidun Smile Eye Lift™ -toimenpiteen.
Modifioidun, tehostetun Smile Eye Lift™ -hoidon jälkeen rasvakudos käsitellään ihon päältä hellävaraisella TightSculpting™-menetelmällä. TightSculpting-hoito hajottaa liiallista rasvaa, joka poistuu toimenpiteen jälkeen aineenvaihduntaprosessien myötä.
