After Radiesse Filler Treatment
After Radiesse treatment, the treated area may experience the following temporary side effects:
- mild pain
- redness
- bruising
- swelling
- tenderness
- itchiness
- tingling sensation
All of these are common post-injection reactions. They are temporary and usually disappear within a few days. If symptoms persist or other symptoms occur, contact the provider who performed the filler treatment.
Avoid touching the treated area for the first six hours. After that, you can gently wash the area with water and cleansing products. Light makeup can be applied to the treatment area immediately after the procedure. Do not use organic cosmetics in the first few days.
Do not expose the treated area to heat (sunbeds, sauna, direct sunlight) or excessive cold until the swelling and redness have disappeared.
If you have had cold sores in the past, needle punctures may trigger a recurrence.
Medications containing acetylsalicylic acid (e.g., aspirin) and some herbal products may increase the likelihood of bruising or bleeding at the injection site.
Radiesse is a calcium hydroxylapatite-based filler. Its effects last for 12–24 months. Results can be maintained with follow-up treatments.
Follow-up treatments are usually performed once a year or once every two years.
